Description:

The Tripp Trapp is a sturdy children's chair that grows with your child. It lifts them up so they can be included in activities around the table.

Children love interacting with the family. In today's hectic lifestyle, it is more important than ever to encourage these special moments of togetherness. The dining table is more than a place for mealtimes. It's for playing, homework or simply just talking, enjoying quality time together. A child sitting at the same height as an adult at a table stimulates development of confidence. We believe that life around the table is incredibly important.

As an adult, we have the luxury of being able to rest our feet on the floor, allowing us to move freely to get comfortable. For your child, there is no such luxury. Tripp Trapp therefore features a unique, adjustable footrest that brings the floor up to your child. This creates better balance and comfort, as your child can easily shift their weight.

By sitting with the feet supported and elbows at the table height, your child can move easier and naturally and use their body without strain. It's all about support, balance and movement.

  • The original award winning highchair

5great productOct 13, 2008
Purchased a second one for our son who just turned one and he loves it. A well made and designed product that will be put to good use for years to come.

1My Stokke baby rail brokeJul 30, 2008
My Stokke baby rail broke. Please be aware before purchasing this high chair, that there are safer (and less-expensive) options out there. I thought I was giving my daughter the best by purchasing a "top-of-the-line" high chair, but I was really putting her in danger.

The flimsy, plastic baby rail which attaches to the seat of the chair via a think clip broke in half when my infant daughter leaned forward in the chair. My daughter then tumbled forward, hitting her head on the table in front of her and getting caught up in the harness. I do not think the baby rail was manufactured with the safety of children in mind, and I want to warn other parents before they make the same mistake.

Despite repeatedly calling and even sending pictures of the defective product, the company has refused to refund my purchase. When I called, the customer service representative mentioned that they have seen this happen on numerous occasions. So, why is this product still on the market?!

My anger regarding my child's fall as a result of this poorly-designed product and Stokke's complete disregard for the safety of the children it sells to has prompted me to write this review and warn others of the danger of the plastic baby rail that accompanies the Stokke high chair.

5Great chair for the growing childJun 13, 2008
First, let me start by saying I have THREE of these tripp trapp chairs at my house. Each of my children (ages 7, 4 and 1.5) have their own and we LOVE them. The adjustable nature of the chair allows the child to be placed at the appropriate height in relation to the table with a comfortable footrest to support them. When you are four - you want to be a "big kid" and no longer want to sit in a booster seat but still too small to sit in an adult chair without having table being too high. Imagine trying to eat dinner with the table chin high! This chair is the perfect solution.

We nurture independence in our children and this table allows my youngest who is 18 months to climb into his own seat to eat his meals with the family. While we have used a booster seat for him, he is not happy being strapped in. Whenever any of my children have a friend over, they all want to sit in these (and since they are our guests we let them). The chair is well made and solid. It doesn't tip over easily as other reviewers described. It's very easy to clean and still looks brand new after SEVEN years -- although the cover is quite worn. And the demand for these is high -- when the children outgrow them I can sell them used for a fair amount of what I paid for them. I highly recommend them!

5Stabile, high-quality chair that allows baby/child to eat AT the table May 15, 2008
We have had this chair since my son was 8 months old, and he is now almost 4. We love it. Unlike with other high chairs, he is right there with the family at mealtimes and not set back from the table because a tray is in the way.

I disagree with an earlier review that this chair can tip. Just look at the picture and you will see that it is nearly impossible. My son tries it all the time and has never once succeeded in lifting it more than an inch or two off the floor. The chair is solid, a bit heavy, and built to last.

2no tray - food everywhere - constantly sweepingApr 04, 2008
This may be great for a month or two while you are just starting to feed your baby - but then when you want them to feed themselves, because there is no tray food is everwhere. It works for the toddler who doesn't want to sit in a highchair anymore. I stopped using it with my baby and use the healthy care booster seat. It's not as offensive as the huge high chairs, works just as well as is easy to clean. Plus you can get it for about $25.
