Great BuyAug 15, 2008 I think this chair is excellent for the money. It's sturdy and the materials are high quality. It looks beautiful. You can't lean back like one reviewer stated but you are not supposed to lean back at the table anyway; good manners start early.
Nice, but not very functionalJul 31, 2008 This highchair is pretty, but not very functional compared to other chairs available. . .
The chair is not adjustable up or down or reclining. However, this is fine for my 8 month old who sits upright when eating, but I wouldn't recommend it for a younger child. especially before they can sit well on their own. The wood matches our diningroom set (which is why we bought it), but it is soft so scratches easily. One of the trays is screwed into the chair and the other one snaps onto the third tray. This makes it harder to clean than the description makes it sound. Also, the seat coushion is cloth and not easily wiped down. We're going to buy a vinyl one we can wipe down to replace it with, otherwise we'd have to wash it every time our daughter ate.
This is a good highchair for the money if you are willing to put in the extra care for aesthetics. It was surprisingly easy to assemble.

Nothing Sustainable About This ChairJul 29, 2008 We began using the chair five months ago. It was easy to assemble and held up fine for a month or two but it has performed hideously over time. The velcro on the flimsy, cloth seat pad deteriorated very quickly and now I have to use pins to secure it to the chair. The finish on the wood has chipped off in places after repeated cleanings. The washable tray insert is poorly designed, allowing food spillage to the base below. It's thin plastic cracked at the top after my baby pushed it to the floor one time. The lack of a recline feature means my daughter bumps her head against the back of the seat when she drinks from her sippy cup.
I was attracted to the Vineland Solid Wood High Chair because it is "made from a sustainable and renewable resource that's environmentally-friendly." It's a shame they didn't design it well enough to make it a lasting resource. This thing is destined for the landfill after only one baby.

Great For the PriceJul 23, 2008 I bought this high chair on Jan.9,2008 and it was delivered quickly, a few days before it was due even! It is beautiful for the price. I do agree with one other review, about the cushion could be a little thicker, however for the price it is great! We are a military family that just transferred so the chair was put through "the movers" test and passed with flying colors. It didn't break or become wobbly. This is a very sturdy chair and I would definitely recomend this product to anyone. Since I received the chair in excellent condition and did not have to deal with Safety 1st I can not say one way or the other about their customer service practices. I did not want a lumpy piece of plastic with loud colors or pictures sitting in my kitchen, I love the simple soft colors and pretty bows on this chair. I also love the ease of the velcro that holds the cushion on tight but lets you remove it to put it in the wash after your child feeds herself spaghetties! The pull out center trey is a bonus, and one last feature that is important to me is that the chair does not flip easily. My daughter is now almost 19 months and loves to climb, she stands on the bottom rails and points to her trey saying please to let me know she's hungry, I was scared to death the first time thinking it was going to flip so I pulled on it to test it and the feet are positioned perfectly. If you are looking for a beautiful wooden high chair but don't have 100's of dollars to spend, then this is the perfect chair for you.

Beautiful, practical, affordableJul 08, 2008 This is one of the best baby-related purchases we've made. I don't go for all that cheap plastic stuff; I'm thrilled to find an attractive high chair that didn't have to be handmade by Amish craftsmen. Love the one-handed tray, love the removable tray insert, love the cute pattern on the cushion. If pressed to find a negative, I'd say that the cushion could be a little thicker. But who treats a high chair like a la-z-boy, anyway? Highly recommended.
